SunGard’s Fibre Channel Interconnect Service provides for the fibre channel connection of Managed IT equipment to SunGard’s Recovery Services equipment at time of test or time of disaster.
There are a number of scenarios where a Customer’s production equipment hosting at SunGard requires fibre channel connectivity to Recovery Services. It may be prudent for Customers to subscribe to tape libraries or extra servers rather than buying dedicated equipment which would only be needed at time of disaster.
The Customer will want to consider their environment carefully to protect against outages or data loss when performing tests involving connectivity to SunGard’s Recovery Services.
