SunGard’s purpose-designed technology centres are state-of-the-art, designed and built to deliver continuous operations no matter what fails, power, communications, UPS, cooling systems or even a generator.
These hosting options are available for customer equipment that is not rack mountable, or which does not typically fit into standard 19” cabinets. For example, equipment like large IBM, Sun and HP systems, freestanding Enterprise disk sub-systems, and tape libraries.
Service Overview
SunGard Secure Hosting Managed Floor Tiles are sold in units of 4 x (600mm x 600mm) standard computer room tiles. The floor tiles are in-line, one tile wide and four tiles deep.
The equipment is normally centred on the third tile with two tiles in front, and one at the rear, which will normally provide sufficient equipment service clearance.

Policy & Restrictions
- Power, cabling, and any caging, will always be provided by SunGard, to ensure that the data centre remains at the same consistently high standard
- Maximum equipment depth is 1200mm (equipment deeper than this may require additional floor tiles to allow service clearance to open the equipment).
- If the freestanding equipment to be hosted is over 600mm wide, then will be a need to purchase additional four tile strips to host the equipment.
- Power and cabling will always be provided by SunGard, to ensure that the data centre remains at the same consistently high standard.
- Maximum allowed concentrated load is 12kN/m² Ground floor and 5kN/m² for the First Floor.
- In the absence of customer specified power or cabling requirements, the standard design specification restriction shall be for 1000Watts per square metre.
- A single set of (4) floor tiles not allowed to consume above 5 KVA
Power consumption above contracted levels charged monthly at standard rate.
