Overview
The SunGard Hardware Installation Service is available to physically install rack mount devices. The service provides complete management of the entire hardware installation process from acceptance of deliveries through to installation of hardware & cabling in accordance with industry & manufacturer standards.
Features
- Deliveries are accepted into SunGard’s hosting centre and secured in the customer storage area. SunGard notify the customer of accepted deliveries and forward on all shipping documents
- SunGard will install the supplied mounting kits and customer equipment as defined by the customer and SunGard operations
- Equipment is installed in cabinets in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations and industry standards
- SunGard will install patch and crossover cables as required for customer equipment located within the cabinet
- Power cabling will be connected to all customer devices within the cabinet. Device cable management and routing will be used to ensure that cabling is neat and orderly

Options
This service is designed for installing a maximum of 10 common rack mount devices, each up to 6U high. SunGard’s Professional Services department can scope and project manage installations of larger volumes or larger sized equipment.
Service requirements
The customer must provide installation instructions
The Hardware Installation Service is limited to the mounting of pre-assembled devices and does not cover the assembly of components such as internal storage devices or interface cards
This service does not include installation or configuration of software. Please refer to the SunGard Software Installation Services if this is required.
