London, UK – 26th January, 2011: SunGard Availability Services, the pioneer and leading provider of Information Availability and business continuity services, today announced it has retained its certification against BS 25999-2:2007, the British Standard for Business Continuity Management (BCM), across its UK operations.
The Standard was developed to help businesses minimise the risks of disruption and keep going during the most challenging and unexpected circumstances. SunGard has duly demonstrated its ability to implement and maintain robust business continuity and Information Availability programmes throughout its fully-resilient Technology Centres, Workplace Recovery sites and internal processes.
SunGard (which represented Intellect on the committee that defined the BS 25999:2007 Standard*) became the first business continuity provider to receive the certification in 2007. The re-certification, which is valid for three years, demonstrates SunGard’s ongoing commitment to realising the highest standards of business continuity and maintains its credibility in being able to assist its customers through the certification process drawing on its own experience.

SunGard also has certified to the ISO 9001:2008 standards for quality management systems and annually has a third party audit certain stated control objectives and control activities (including controls over information technology and related processes) at its four Technology Centres in line with the Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70.
