An exclusive Computing survey of medium to large UK enterprises found that while most organisations do basic backups of their data, far fewer are in a position to restore critical operational data quickly – and worryingly large numbers have poor insight into their IT infrastructures, and their data protection obligations. This is not a picture of efficient, well-managed data and supporting technologies. One solution may be to simplify the storage estate and to use on-demand replication services to ease both the management and financial burdens.
